Pass Refunds

  • Rail Europe can only provide refunds for totally unused or unvalidated tickets. For more details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
  • Policies vary depending on the type of train and fare that you book.  Just check the “details” tab of each fare for more specifics. Refunds, when applicable, pertain to totally unused and unvalidated tickets only. A minimum 15% cancellation charge will apply. In addition, refunds and exchanges are subject to a 5% administrative fee per train ticket.

  • How to request a refund:

    If your travel documents are in the form of “paper” documents, please return your unused, unvalidated tickets/pass to your travel agent, or send to:

    In order to be eligible for a refund, most tickets/passes must be returned at least 3 days prior to the departure date or to be stamped "Unused" at a rail station in Europe. Please also send brief letter to Rail Europe, Inc. including the original reference number on the order. It is strongly suggested that you send these documents by some type of traceable mail for proof of delivery.

    In order to be eligible for a refund, most tickets must be returned at least 3 days prior to the departure date. Please include in your email the original reference number on the order. Be sure to also include your contact information and advise on which items you are requesting refunds. Your email request must be sent to customerrelations@raileurope.com within the timeframe allowed for refunds.
